Artisan Raw Honey (1 lb)
Out of stock
Havenwood Honey is a local producer of small batch artisanal honey located in Little Suamico WI. All of our hives are located on a local, organically based hemp farm just a few miles from us. What sets us apart from other honey is our determination to produce honey without the use of mite controlling pesticides in out hives or other chemical treatments. We believe in producing the purest, most natural product with as little interference from us. When purchasing raw honey it is important to understand that honey never goes bad but it can change form by crystallizing.
If you prefer your honey in liquid form, crystallized honey can be returned to its liquid form by gently heating it. The best way is to heat the amount of honey you want to use in a small double boiler or placing the whole jar in warm water. Try not to heat the honey above 105 degrees to preserve the nature flora.
Raw honey can sometimes ferment. If your honey begins to ferment, you can place it in a refrigerator to stop the fermentation. You will know your honey has begun to ferment if it forms small bubbles at the top making it look foamy and has a slight fermented fragrance like wine or beer. Mead, an alcohol beverage, is actually created from fermenting honey with water and sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops.
